The authors of the communication are X and Y, both nationals of Switzerland. The authors claim that the Neuchâtel law on parking for nomadic communities, which entered into force on 1 April 2018, violates their rights under articles 2, 3, 5 and 6 of the Convention, as it interferes with their family life and threatens the Yenish way of life, including that of future generations. The authors are represented by counsel. 2. On 2 June 2021, 11 November 2021, 3 April 2023 and 24 November 2025, the secretariat requested the authors to provide comments on the observations of the State Party on the admissibility and merits of the communication. These comments have not been provided. 3. At a meeting on 23 April 2026, having taken note of the State Party’s observations, the time that had elapsed since its most recent contact with the authors and the absence of any response from the authors commenting on the State Party’s observations, the Committee decided to discontinue the consideration of communication No. 72/2020.
