The communication, dated 14 June 2023, was submitted by H.M.A., a national of Egypt. The complainant alleges that, by deporting her to Egypt, Sweden would violate her rights under article 3 of the Convention. She is represented by counsel. 2. On 16 June 2023, the Committee registered the communication and requested the State Party to suspend the complainant’s deportation to Egypt and to take measures to release her from pre-deportation detention while her communication was pending before the Committee. 3. On 11 September 2023, the State Party submitted observations on the admissibility and merits of the communication. The State Party also informed the Committee that the removal order against the complainant would become statute-barred on 16 February 2025. The State Party’s observations were transmitted to the complainant on 25 September 2023. 4. On 27 November 2023, the complainant submitted comments on the State Party’s observations. 5. On 13 June 2024, the State Party submitted additional observations. 6. On 7 March 2025, the complainant confirmed that her removal order had become statute-barred on 16 February 2025 and informed the Committee that she had applied for asylum again on 18 February 2025. 7. On 28 March 2025, the State Party requested that the communication be discontinued because the removal order had become statute-barred on 16 February 2025 and could no longer be enforced. On 7 April 2025, the complainant informed the Committee that she disagreed with discontinuing the communication. 8. At its meeting on 10 April 2025, in the light of the fact that the removal order, which was the subject of the communication, had become statute-barred in February 2025, the Committee decided to discontinue its consideration of communication No. 1181/2023.
